What we do

Every Christmas the club seeks out families needing assistance. Through Turning Point families are identified  and the club tries to fulfill the needs of each family. This year two families were identified and supported. One family, with five children, had just moved to Wareham after a difficult situation. The needs included shoes to coats and everything in between. The second family had two small children that needed clothing to include winter coats. Turning Point provided the Christmas gifts beyond clothing.

The club also has a Toy Drive and Christmas gathering that our Service Leadership Programs (SLP) participants are invited. The toys are distributed to local Fire and Police.

Youth Bike Safety

Kiwanis Club of Bourne Wareham is serious about bike safety. Teach kids about bike safety help with:

  • Preventing and Reducing Injuries: Prioritizing bike safety for children significantly lowers the risk of accidents, protecting them from potential injuries or mishaps.
  • Developing Lifelong Habits: Teaching bike safety early instills lifelong habits, ensuring children grow into responsible and safety-conscious cyclists.
  • Promoting Confidence: Understanding and practicing bike safety gives children the confidence to explore their surroundings on bikes while feeling secure and protected.
The past Youth Bike Safety event presented by the club has provided a day of learning, fun, and community bonding. It's more than just an event; it's a commitment to creating a safer, more informed generation of cyclists. We look forward to seeing you and your young cyclists at our next event. Together, let's pedal towards a safer future on two wheels!

Raise Money

Fundraising activities are essential for supporting the work of non-profits and community groups. They not only raise vital funds but also enhance community engagement and awareness. Our current fundraising activities our the Cinco de Mayo 5 K and various raffles. These events not only generate funds through outside participation but also provide a platform for enjoyable community involvement.

In all these efforts, aligning the fundraising activities with the organization's mission is key. It ensures that the event not only raises funds but also strengthens the community's bond with the cause, showcasing the power of collective support in making a positive change.
